Neurologic Physical Therapy

Evidence-based rehabilitation designed to improve walking, strength, balance and mobility.

At Labyrinth Physical Therapy & Wellness, neurologic rehabilitation is built around current research, individualized treatment and progressive challenge.

Our neurologic physical therapy program is led by Christina Garrity, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist, with advanced expertise in neurologic rehabilitation. Christina is also completing her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, with research focused on walking recovery and the factors that influence walking efficiency and mobility after stroke.

This combination of clinical specialization and active research allows us to bring current rehabilitation science directly into patient care.

Conditions We Treat

We work with adults with neurologic conditions including:

  • Stroke
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Concussion
  • Other acquired neurologic injuries
  • Gait and balance disorders
  • Persistent weakness or mobility limitations following neurologic injury

Neurologic Rehabilitation Should Be Evidence-Based—and Challenging

Recovery of movement requires more than performing the same exercises week after week.

Research in neurologic rehabilitation supports the importance of repetition, intensity, task-specific practice and progressive challenge to improve walking and functional mobility.

At Labyrinth, treatment is designed around those principles.

A Specialized Approach to Walking Recovery

Walking is often one of the most important goals after a neurologic injury—and one of the most complex.

Improving walking requires more than simply practicing steps. Strength, balance, cardiovascular capacity, coordination, movement efficiency and the ability to adapt to different environments can all affect mobility.

Christina’s doctoral research specifically focuses on walking recovery after stroke, including how the body uses energy and produces movement during walking.

Our goal is not simply to help you walk. We want to help you walk better, farther, faster and with greater confidence whenever possible.

Science-Driven. One-on-One. Built Around Your Goals.

At Labyrinth, neurologic physical therapy is not based on a generic exercise sheet.

Every session is one-on-one and designed around your diagnosis, movement challenges and goals.

We combine advanced neurologic specialization, current rehabilitation research and progressive exercise to help you make meaningful improvements in mobility and function.

Whether your goal is to walk farther, move faster, get stronger, return to activities you enjoy or simply feel more confident moving through your day, we will build your rehabilitation around what matters to you.
